Water and Irrigation Services Enhancement Program in Armenia (WISE)
Objective of the Program: To implement climate-resilient irrigation and water supply systems, contributing to economic growth, food security, balanced regional development, and enhanced management efficiency in the water sector. The program consists of four components.

Preparation of the Water Supply Component of the "Resilient Syunik" Program
Program Objective: To improve access to safe, quality, and reliable drinking water supply for the population of the Syunik Region through the modernization and development of water supply systems. The program aims to reduce water losses, increase service efficiency, and expand access to water supply while strengthening the socio-economic resilience of local communities.

Community Infrastructure Program II, Phase 3
Program Objective: To improve the quality of water supply and wastewater services across 63 communities and settlements in 7 regions of the Republic of Armenia by providing safe, 24/7 drinking water, reducing water losses, lowering operational costs, and enhancing system energy efficiency.

Construction of the Vedi Reservoir and Irrigation System
Program Objective: To improve water resource management and the sustainability of irrigated agriculture in the Ararat Plain by providing reliable irrigation, boosting agricultural production, and enhancing the efficient use of water resources. It aims to increase the efficiency of irrigation systems, reduce water losses, and transition from mechanical irrigation to gravity-fed systems.

Integrated Water Resources Management: Akhuryan River, Phase 1
Program Objective: To ensure efficient and integrated water resources management in the Akhuryan River basin by developing and modernizing water infrastructure. The program aims to increase water storage and regulation capacity through the construction of the Kaps Reservoir, enhance the reliability and efficiency of irrigation systems, and transition from mechanical pumping to gravity-fed systems.

Small and Medium Reservoirs
Program Objective: To ensure the implementation of the reservoir construction and agricultural water resources management program envisioned by the Government of Armenia, based on the assessment of water supply and demand.
The program foresees the design and construction of 18 small and medium-sized reservoirs. As a result, irrigation systems will transition from mechanical pumping to gravity-fed operation, reducing the cost of water and promoting agricultural development. Detailed design documents for 5 reservoirs are already completed, feasibility studies are underway for 3, and preparatory work for the remaining 9 is scheduled to launch.
