Vahagn Gevorgyan, Chairman of the Water Committee, alongside Deputy Chairmen Martiros Nalbandyan and Varazdat Mkrtchyan, received today representatives of the French Development Agency (AFD), led by Tanguy Vincent, Head of the Agriculture and Irrigation Task Force.

Welcoming the guests, Water Committee Chairman Vahagn Gevorgyan emphasized the importance of the ongoing strategic dialogue between the AFD and the Government of Armenia in addressing critical infrastructure challenges facing the state.

The discussions covered several key areas:

• Progress updates on the final execution stages of the Vedi Reservoir project,
• The effective launch and implementation of the "Irrigated Agriculture Development in Ararat and Armavir Marzes" (IADAAM) program,
• The assessment of the "Water and Agriculture Integrated Development for Armenia" (WAIDA) program, including:
• Co-financing terms for the "Water and Irrigation Services Improvement" (WISE) project with the World Bank,
• The financing volume and timelines for the infrastructure component of Syunik's comprehensive development,
• The scope of the technical assistance program to be submitted to the European Union to secure delegated grant funds.
