Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee of the MTAI of the Republic of Armenia, and Nvard Vardanyan, Deputy Chairperson, met with Hrachya Zakoyan, Rector of the Armenian National Agrarian University, to discuss opportunities for professional education, personnel training, and the development of academic-scientific cooperation in the water sector.

Presenting the potential framework for collaboration, the Chairman of the Water Committee highlighted the importance of preparing professional personnel tailored to sector needs, building the skills of young specialists, and strengthening the connection between education, science, and practical application.

In this context, several avenues for cooperation were identified: the joint development and implementation of short-term and specialized programs derived from the demands of the water sector, the expansion of practical training opportunities for students, the organization of professional and thematic meetings, as well as the promotion of relevant scientific and applied research for the field.

The University Rector presented the academic degree programs related to the water sector and the university's institutional capabilities. In particular, the Bachelor's and Master's educational programs in "Land and Water Resources Management" were presented. The sides also discussed developing joint specialized courses aligned with industry needs and providing students of relevant majors with opportunities for professional internships and practical experience within water sector entities.

Among the potential areas of cooperation, the inclusion of a Water Committee representative in the Industrial Council attached to the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering was also considered, which will allow the practical needs and professional requirements of the sector to be reflected more directly within the educational process.

The parties agreed to continue working discussions to define specific areas of collaboration and outline subsequent steps. Reference was also made to the prospective signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize the emerging partnership.
