Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee, accompanied by Deputy Chairman Karen Daghbashyan, paid a working visit to the Gegharkunik Province.

The first stop of the visit was the town of Martuni, home to the headquarters of the "Gegharkunik" Water Users Association (WUA). The Water Committee leadership met with Director Artash Sardaryan, inspected the WUA's facilities, and addressed the concerns and questions raised by the staff.

The discussion was also attended by the heads of the Vardenis and Gavar local branch sections of the "Gegharkunik" WUA. Matters regarding the potential cultivation of new crops and agricultural management—specifically focusing on horticulture and proper crop selection in the region—were examined.

Following the meeting, Sardaryan accompanied the Water Committee leadership to the WUA's service areas, where they inspected spring preparation efforts and evaluated the current condition of hydro-technical structures, including visits to the pumping stations in Martuni, Astghadzor, Zolakar, and Tsovinar.

An inspection was also conducted at the site of the future Astghadzor reservoir basin; the planned reservoir is expected to significantly reduce the operational burden on adjacent pumping stations.

Ghalamkaryan and Daghbashyan also visited the Martuni Wastewater Treatment Plant, where they observed the primary (mechanical) water treatment process and monitored the discharge flow leaving the facility.

The visit concluded in the Tsovinar settlement, where the Water Committee leaders inspected the outlet of the "Arpa–Sevan" No. 2 Tunnel, observing the flow of water transferred into Lake Sevan via the canal and reviewing the water-metering observation post.
