A workshop titled "Water Sector Reforms 2026–2031" was held in Dilijan, attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

The discussion focused on the main provisions for upcoming actions in the water sector:

1. round-the-clock availability of drinking water,
2. expansion of access to irrigation water and the effective integration of unutilized lands,
3. construction of reservoirs and accumulation of water resources,
4. wastewater treatment as the rule, rather than the exception,
5. water tariffs and cost-effectiveness of the system,
6. formation of a water market and stimulation of private investments,
7. transition from "water sector reforms" to "water transformation."

The agenda also included another key direction: interconnecting land and water management through the institutional transformation of the Water Committee of the MTAI of the Republic of Armenia into the Land and Water Committee adjunct to the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
