Capital Works Press Release

March 03, 2026

In December 2025, financed by the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, the Water Committee launched 13 capital works programs for the overhaul of water supply systems and drinking water distribution networks, scheduled for completion in 2026.

The program includes major overhaul operations for the most critically deteriorated drinking water supply systems and distribution networks across the Nubarashen, Ajapnyak, Malatia-Sebastia, and Kentron administrative districts of Yerevan, as well as the Aknalich settlement in the Metsamor community of Armavir Province, Alaverdi community in Lori Province, and Ashtarak community in Aragatsotn Province.

As a result of the program's implementation, we will achieve reliable management of the water distribution network, reduced operational costs, improved water quality, and savings of 191 l/s in water volume. This, in turn, will allow for an improved water supply schedule in both Yerevan and the provinces.

Specifically, the ongoing capital repair works for drinking water supply systems encompass the following volumes:

  • Nubarashen Administrative District: 47.5 km
  • Ajapnyak Administrative District: 38.5 km
  • Kentron Administrative District: 18 km
  • Malatia-Sebastia Administrative District: 14.5 km
  • Provinces: 22 km

A total of 6,300 households are beneficiaries of the above-mentioned programs.
