On February 6, 2026, on the initiative of Gevorg Kotanjyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Local Self-Government of the Public Council, a meeting was held with the participation of Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure (MTAI); Martiros Nalbandyan, Deputy Chairman of the Water Committee; Artashes Tumanyan, Advisor to the RA Prime Minister; and Public Council members Vazgen Ghazaryan, Armine Margaryan, Susanna Khalatyan, and Marina Mkrtchyan.

The meeting was chaired by Ara Khzmalyan, Chairman of the Public Council.

Discussions focused on the work carried out in the field of reservoir construction under RA Government programs, as well as upcoming projects. Special attention was paid to the importance and further implementation of the Yeghvard Reservoir project.

A. Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee, emphasized the strategic importance of Armenia's water resources and the necessity of their targeted use.

M. Nalbandyan presented ongoing reservoir construction projects, volume indicators for expected works, and the scope of activities carried out through international cooperation. In this context, reference was also made to the issues of Lake Sevan and programs being developed for wastewater management in the lake's catchment basin.
