Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee, and Karen Daghbashyan, Deputy Chairman, conducted a working visit to Tavush Province.

At the start of the visit, the Water Committee leadership visited the Tavush Governor's Office, where they were received by Governor Hayk Ghalumyan. During the meeting, several primary issues requiring urgent solutions were discussed, including directives issued by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia relevant to the sector and the province.

Subsequently, the Water Committee leadership, alongside Marianna Shahinyan, General Director of "Veolia Jur" CJSC, attended the opening ceremony of a pumping station providing 24/7 drinking water supply in the border village of Azatamut. In Azatamut village of Tavush Province, which has a population of around 3,450, drinking water supply over recent decades had been limited to just 3–4 hours per day. To resolve the issue, relevant studies were conducted by "Veolia Jur" CJSC, followed by drilling and construction works lasting around six months.

As a result of the works, a new pump was installed and approximately 600 linear meters of new pipeline were constructed, securing a reliable 24/7 drinking water supply for the residents of the settlement.

Within the framework of the provincial visit, the Water Committee leadership, accompanied by Roman Aharonyan, Director of the "Tavush" Water User Association (WUA), toured the sites of the province's water infrastructure and reservoirs. Ghalamkaryan and Daghbashyan visited the Hakhum, Tavush, and Aygedzor reservoirs, inspecting on-site their water storage levels, fill capacity, technical condition, and existing challenges, as well as discussing the organization of works for sections subject to repair and restoration.

The Chairman of the Water Committee assured that reservoir safety remains a central focus for the agency and the entire Government, emphasizing that a project aimed at addressing the safety issues of the Aygedzor reservoir will launch in the upcoming period.
