Today, Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee, accompanied by Deputy Chairman Karen Daghbashyan and Tigran Vardanyan, Director of "Jrar" CJSC, paid a working visit to the Ararat Province. During the visit, they inspected the ongoing preparations at the "Mkhchyan 1" pumping station ahead of the irrigation season, as well as the water volume available in the intake basin.

In Armenia, numerous pumping stations operate outdated, energy-inefficient pumps. Replacing these with state-of-the-art technologies will ensure high productivity and significantly reduce electricity costs.

Recognizing the need to modernize these pumping stations, the Water Committee is currently exploring market options for upgrading irrigation and water supply systems—one of which was presented by GTS Group. Today, representatives from the company joined water sector officials at the pumping station to conduct an on-site assessment of current needs and discuss potential collaboration opportunities.

The Water Committee will continue its consultations and work toward the re-equipment and modernization of water systems, aimed at optimizing the design, supply, installation, and operation of pumping stations and pipelines.
