Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee, met with Zhanna Andreasyan, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and Anzhela Kzhdryan, Advisor to the RA Prime Minister on a unpaid basis. During the meeting, key issues related to the development of educational, scientific, and public awareness components within the framework of state policy implemented in the water sector were discussed.

Reference was made to:

• The need to deepen cooperation with higher educational institutions and research organizations, as well as the implementation of applied knowledge in the sector,
• The serious problem of a shortage of specialists in the water sector,
• The implementation of public awareness events aimed at forming a responsible and water-saving attitude,
• The need for more targeted development of eco-educational courses, taking into account the geographical and water characteristics of various regions of Armenia,
• The pilot implementation of a sector-specific educational program from one of the world's prestigious universities at a local university.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports also presented information regarding water-related issues in schools across around 40 settlements in Armenia. The Chairman of the Water Committee expressed readiness to comprehensively study the raised issues within the scope of the "Resilient Syunik Armenia" and "Water and Irrigation Services Improvement" (WISE) programs, considering potential pathways for their solution.

It was proposed to form a working group for future discussions and program implementation. The parties reached an agreement to step up cooperation aimed at developing and implementing joint projects, as well as establishing sustainable links between education and water policy.
