Staff of the Water Committee, alongside representatives from the Armenian Territorial Development Fund (ATDF) and "Veolia Jur" CJSC, conducted a working visit to the newly constructed drinking water treatment plant (WTP) in the Meghri community of Syunik Province for the purpose of testing its technological systems and equipment.

As part of the working visit, an inspection was also made to the old Meghri drinking water treatment plant, the Zvar River feeding it and its river intake area, as well as the city of Agarak to monitor the progress of construction works on the new WTP on site.

Commissioned by the Water Committee and funded by the state budget, the ATDF is implementing a series of urgent works within the framework of the "Community Water Supply Systems Reconstruction Project" across the service area of "Veolia Jur" CJSC. These include the dismantling of the existing drinking water treatment plant in Meghri, Syunik Province, and the construction of a new plant with a capacity of 5,000–6,000 m³/day, as well as the major overhauling of the Agarak WTP alongside the construction of an additional new facility with a capacity of 3,400 m³/day.
