Today, the launch workshop of the water supply component of the "Armenia: Resilient Syunik" program took place at the Water Committee.

The workshop was a continuation of the Memorandum of Cooperation on Advisory Services signed on February 4 of this year within the framework of the "Armenia: Resilient Syunik" program between the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, the Water Committee, and the Armenian Territorial Development Fund.

Participants in the discussion included both the signing and initiating parties, as well as stakeholders—specifically, the Chief Secretary of the Syunik Governor's Staff and representatives from the municipal offices of Goris, Sisian, Kapan, Kajaran, Tegh, Tatev, and Meghri.

As a result of the technical assistance provided under the EIB-funded program, it is planned to study the water supply systems of around 55 tentatively selected settlements in the Syunik region and develop feasible water supply projects with technical and financial assessments.

The drinking water component is one of the three components of this program aimed at improving access to reliable and safe drinking water supply for the population of the Syunik region, boosting the socio-economic resilience of communities, supporting the integration of displaced and host families, and promoting sustainable economic growth through infrastructure development.

The implementation of the program aligns with the priorities of the RA Government's 2021–2026 plan ("Water Management," "Energy," "Tourism," "Healthcare") and is directed toward modernizing infrastructure and strengthening community resilience.
