Today, Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, received H.E. Dr. Nariman Mohammad Sharif Al-Mulla, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of Armenia.

Among other items on the agenda, the meeting included discussions on an investment project proposal aimed at improving drinking water supply in rural settlements of Armavir Province.

Welcoming the Ambassador, the Chairman of the Water Committee highly appreciated the UAE's technological potential and readiness to share expertise with Armenia, noting that the Armenian side had already submitted a collaborative project proposal. Ambassador Al-Mulla thanked for the reception and stated that UAE specialists had reviewed the submitted proposal and were interested in potential avenues for cooperation.

The Chairman of the Water Committee outlined the development priorities of Armenia’s water supply system, addressing opportunities for reducing water losses, establishing wastewater treatment plants, improving infrastructure, and implementing investment programs. Mr. Ghalamkaryan noted that "Veolia Jur" CJSC serves approximately 80 percent of Armenia's population, whereas the unserviced settlements could become directions for new cooperation and investment projects.

The UAE side presented their country's expertise in water recycling, brackish water desalination, artificial intelligence, and modern irrigation technologies, highlighting the importance of applying advanced technological solutions in the development of wastewater treatment plants.

The parties agreed to continue professional contacts and step up information exchange and reciprocal visits for the purpose of joint project development.

Ambassador Al-Mulla invited the Armenian delegation to participate in international events hosted in the United Arab Emirates dedicated to water resources management.
