Aramazd Ghalamkaryan, Chairman of the Water Committee, received H.E. Mr. Petr Pirunčík, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties addressed ongoing and planned projects in Armenia's water resources management, reservoir construction, and wastewater treatment sectors, as well as opportunities for expanding Armenian-Czech cooperation.

The Chairman of the Water Committee noted that the efficient management of water resources, along with the development and modernization of infrastructure, are among the key priorities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Ghalamkaryan presented plans for the construction of around 25 reservoirs over the next 10–15 years, also touching upon the construction and volume expansion of the Kaps Reservoir, as well as possibilities for restoring the Yeghvard Reservoir.

A separate focus was placed on wastewater treatment. The Chairman of the Water Committee emphasized that preventing the discharge of untreated wastewater into the natural environment is a priority objective. Ghalamkaryan noted that open international tenders are planned to be announced for the construction of wastewater treatment plants and the deployment of appropriate technological solutions in the Lake Sevan basin. The Czech side expressed readiness to provide expert assistance, as well as to present the technological solutions and services of Czech companies specializing in water management. A corresponding information package will be shared with the Armenian side.

The parties highlighted the importance of continuous practical engagement and agreed to organize subsequent expert-level meetings.
